What’s Reopening in the Area?

West London is awakening before our eyes, and it’s just in time for travellers to enjoy some of the last remnants of the British Summer (wishful thinking, right?) and the beauty that...

it provides our local Paddington area. Many local venues and attractions have begun welcoming guests again under new social distancing measures, and we don’t want you to miss out on anything that’s on offer to make your visit memorable! That’s why we’ve come up with our top 3 places that are a must-visit so you can enjoy your city break in style and safety.

1. Pergola Paddington
Are you a lover of nature, great views and delicious drinks? Pergola provides a unique experience that combines all three, on a rooftop filled with forest decor and 4 amazing restaurants to choose from. Usually popular with group bookings and after-work relaxation, the new social distancing rules have limited the capacity to ensure guest safety, and it’s the perfect time to watch the sunset over the city or enjoy a romantic evening before you start to need extra layers with you. You may encounter some of those pesky London prices on some of the menu items, but they taste even better than they look, and the surroundings make it well worth the visit if you’re only able to visit once.

2. London Shell Co
Now for something a lot closer to sea level! Another unique West London experience comes in the form of a relaxing canal boat, which has been impressively re-designed into a floating restaurant! You can dine on delicious fresh seafood & wine while you amble along Regent’s Canal through Central London aboard the “Prince Regent”, or you can enjoy a more static approach to your dining needs and enjoy the beautiful designed interior of the “Grand Duchess” which remains docked on the Grand Union Canal. Their menus provide a fantastic variety of cuisine that you might expect in one of London’s fine dining venues, but this trip will certainly be more memorable based on your surroundings.

If you fancy a cruise or canal-side meal during your next visit, you can make your choice here: https://londonshellco.com/. Happy floating!

3. Paddington Basin
If you’re more in the mood to explore your local area and get some of that famous London fresh air, there’s no better place to enjoy a stroll than along the waterfront, with an abundance of classic canal boats to take you back in time to how things once were in the area. The basin commences 500 m south of the junction known as ‘Little Venice’, of the Regent's Canal and the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal. The basin was first opened in 1801, and while the surrounding buildings have changed somewhat, the area still provides a uniquely quiet area to enjoy a family stroll or a romantic evening while the lights shine off the gentle waves. Along this stretch of water you can find plenty of restaurants, bars and photo spots to help you make the most of your visit, but you’ll still enjoy the experience even without spending a penny!

Give it a search on Google and enjoy the short walk from our hotel!
